Got my new Asic Speedstars in the mail yesterday. Time to break them in for Boston. Ran what I thought was going to be and easy 6 miler at lunch w/ Darin. It was another windy day, so when the wind was behind us, we cruised.

GREAT SPEEDY RUN!!!!

How is the weather there, aside from the wind?

Great job Marc! I got my new Boston shoes on Friday and am waiting for the right run to try them out. I'll probably use them for my tempo run tomorrow and then at the 1/2 marathon on Fri, then just 1 or 2 times more before Boston. I like racing in them when they are pretty much brand new.

Sounds like a nice day to take Speedstars and Darin for a spin. What color are they? Does it match your Adidas wardrobe?

Hey Kelli - it was a little chilly today..I think it was 60 at lunch time, and about 65 after work. That's actually just about perfect for a training run, and a little warm for a race. Gotta love Texas weather..for these couple weeks of the year. The summer months (which I believe start in April) make it a little more difficult to get in the long miles--at least not during the daylight hours! :)

Rhett - I'm with you. I wore my new Speedstars all day today, to get them to conform to my foot. I'll probably run in them one or two more times, then put them in my bag for Boston. Last year I ran in a pair that I bought at the Expo on Sunday -- even though I walked around in them for about a day, they weren't quite race-ready come Monday morning. My feet weren't very happy around mile 17.

Smooth-it was a great day for running. (Tom was looking for someone to run with, and I took a peek at the "Mileage Board" and decided to add a few more miles to put me on top for another day :) My mileage is pretty pathetic compared to some of those guys up there..look at Sasha's totals. He averaged over 100 miles per week last year!!!!!! (and I only ran 18 miles last weeek). I'm pretty sporadic and squeeze in my miles whenever I find the time.

Yep..love those new Bright Yellow Speedstars. Smooth, they're not racing flats, but I'd call them light-weight, semi-cushioned, racers. Compared to my Nimbus's, they're very lightweight. They work for me.

That is perfect running weather for right now. I will be momentarily jealous! We get more snow tomorrow.

got to love new shoes! I did the same thing at TOU this year and had a great blister to show for it. Funny thing is it didn't hurt during the race, or maybe I am just so tuff I didn't notice it. :-)
