We had a great turnout this morning before work. Ran with Darin, Jo, Mike, and Dave. It's a lot easier to take the heat and humidity when you have friends to share them with!

(left achilles tendon still a bit sore. Going to RICE it today)

Misery always loves company :) I hope the achilles is feeling better.

when did this Achilles thing start? Just this week?

From MarcE on Fri, Jul 16, 2010 at 21:53:12 from 204.16.82.120

Thanks, Kathie.

Tim..I've had Achilles pain off and on over the past 6 or 7 years. Ever since I started running long. It never gets too bad. I've got a little limp today. I'm going to bike tomorrow, and see if I can get it back to normal in a week (El Scorcho). Is it true that Sawyer has Lyme Disease? Poor little guy.

From timp on Fri, Jul 16, 2010 at 22:28:08 from 144.189.100.25

yeah I thought you had it under control Marc - sounds like you know what to do at least.

Yeah Sawyer has lyme disease. The rash is getting better after a day of antibiotics but he still doesn't have all of his appetite or energy. But he is doing fine. Thanks for the concern. We are leaving for IL tomorrow and I'm so glad he has meds.

From MarcE on Sat, Jul 17, 2010 at 00:58:09 from 204.16.82.120

At least you know what's been bothering him. I hope there aren't any lingering effects.

Good luck at the 4 miler, and have a safe trip to IL. Later.

Glad you had company to run with and beat the heat! Take care of that achilles!

From Smooth on Sat, Jul 17, 2010 at 23:48:51 from 174.23.244.221

Tim ~ Sorry to hear little Sawyer has lyme disease. Two couples in our neighborhood have been diagnosed with it. I guess they got it through deer ticks. Hope Sawyer gets quick and effective treatment! Best wishes to you and your little guy!

Hope the ricing helped.

So, I thought about you, Tim, Fly (who seems to enjoy running later in the day), Rhett and Doone throughout my run yesterday. When I finished it was 80 degrees and I was MISERABLE!!! I had exhausted my fluids and had to have Ry bring me some more! DANG you all are diehards.

El Scorcho 50K...Oh Marc, it's coming fast, get those aches and pains under control fast. Not to mention St George is only 75 days away!

From MarcE on Sun, Jul 18, 2010 at 20:39:15 from 204.16.82.120

Teena - I think the temperatures bother me worse as I get older. We used to run 3 or 4 miles after work when it was in the 90s or 100s. As long as we drank enough before and after it was OK -- I can't say it was enjoyable (everyone who saw us out there thought we were crazy). 80 is just no fun either. I took yesterday and today off of running -- rode my bike with the kids a little. Going to NOT run all week in hopes that my Achilles is better by Saturday (going to do lots of eliptical). If it's not 100% Saturday, I'll either cutback El Scorcho from 50K to the 25 (La Scorchita:) or skip it all together.

Slick - I can't believe SGM is coming up fast. I know I need to get motivated about it!

I love the small print. I often don't mention any soreness or pain because I don't want to hear all the advice that comes with mentioning it. It's just more fun to run through it and then deal with the consiquences when it becomes a big problem. I hope your's is nothing.
