Met Ty at the trailhead at 5PM. The car said 100 degrees on the nose. Rode to the lake, cooled off, then rode back. This week was much easier than last week. I think that with the sun lower in the sky, the distance between shade spots (my friends) was a little less. Didn't seem quite so brutal this week. And there were a few clouds that helped.

Finished reading Dean Karnaze's book. Some pretty cool stuff in there. He's just a little too gung-ho for me and my lifestyle. I probably won't be running a marathon to the south pole, or running a 200 mile Relay by myself anytime soon. :)

I haven't run in over 2 weeks. I think I'll try easing into it again sometime this week.

95F at 7:45 when we finished.

You training for Badwater???

Dang, that is hot!!!!

Nice job, Marc! :)

(Yeah, Dean is a little too much for me.)

I read his book last year and thought may be I could do that, NOT!

Hey, nice ride in that temp hot enough to fry an egg!

NICE going, Marc! Have a great week!

Nice ride on a hot day good for you!

I think that the really heavy heat is just about to let up and we can get into some good old fall running temps!!!!

From MarcE on Tue, Aug 10, 2010 at 12:56:52 from 204.16.82.120

Teena - Nope, not Badwater...though I'm sure it couldn't be too much worse (except that you need to run on the white lines on the road so the bottoms of your shoes don't melt off)

Smooth - I believe I could have fried an egg out there. What doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right? :)

Kathie - thanks!

Slick - yep, we should be about ready to cool down soon. We've had 10 straight days of our high temps over 100 -- the normal is 94 for this time of year. I'm ready for the 70s and 80s again. :)

Hang in there, soon those of us who live in hot places get to reap the rewards.
