Met Darin and Dave in Grapevine. Rode single-track trails for about an hour (6.5 miles), then ran 6 miles, then swam about 400 m in lake. It was a good workout. Breakfast w/ Dave afterwards.

Ran a 5K race in the morning. My speed is coming back a little - but I'm still not back to my old self. Ran 20:57 (4th in the 40-49 AG).

Darin, Dave, John, and I rode the north shore of Lake Grapevine afterwards on our MTN bikes. It was lots of fun, and the weather wasn't too hot.

After a 2 hour nap, went and rode 4 more miles with my youngest son at the park in town. He really likes bike riding.

Biking in Illinois. 36.78 miles, 2:49:13, Avg speed 13.0, 2364kCal. Road to South Elgin from Wheaton/Back.

Interesting fact. There were some bad storms in the area during the previous week. Most of the fallen trees had already been cleared, but there was one tree on the Prairie Path (on my entire ride), and it was directly behind my brother's house -- he doesn't realize how good he has it to be this close to a major trail system. Well, I borrowed my brother's chain saw, and cut up the tree and cleared the path for all the bikers and runners (they had to climb over it to get through before). I did my good deed for the day!
