Met Jo and Darin at the trail, again. Ran the first 6 mile loop with Jo and Darin (10:08 AP). Jo had to leave, so ran the next 6 mile loop with Darin (AP: 9:11). I took a rest day yesterday, and made sure I was plenty hydrated. No problems and we all felt good today. I'm seriously thinking of running a trail race in the fall -- I should be used to the ups, down, root, rocks, and sand by then.

Ran a 1 mile cooldown at Darin's house..to get 40 miles for the week (my first 40 mile week in a long time!!).

NICE trail run! GOOD JOB on the mileage! You're doing awesome in that heat! :)

What trail race you gonna run?

I'm thinking of running one after SGM too!

Yep, Smooth..the trails are through the trees and the shade is quite nice this time of year.

I'll probably run a local trail run here in Novemeber - http://nttr.org/rumble/ , there's 15K, 30K, and 50K -- I'm not sure what I'll be in shape for. I know I can run 15K on a trail...not sure about 30 or 50. I'm not ready to run any of those big trail Ultras in the mountains...maybe next year! ;)

I just watch the videos on that website, very pretty trail in wooded area around the lake. Our trails here are mostly in mountains, technical up and downs.

You can definitely do the 30K. Trail running is slower but much gentler on the legs. Remembering to eat is the trick, so it helps to have a pacer for the ultra mountain trails! :)

I can't wait to hear all about it! I think you will do AWESOME and have a ton of FUN! :)

Oh, to minimize sand in the shoes! Have you worn gator before! Dirty Girls make some with snazzy colors. :)

Thanks for the advice, Smooth, but I don't think I'll be ordering anything from "Dirty Girls" :). I haven't needed gators, yet..but I might have to get some and give them a try.
