Tried to run 5 miles at 8:22/mi without looking at watch. Not very close. I ranged from 8:08 to 9:00...I'll definitely make sure the Garmin is charged before Saturday's pacing gig.

Miles are miles.

Make sure it has several screens showing pace, average pace, lap pace...like you did last year! :)

You're SOOOO amazingly consistent!

From Rhett on Thu, Feb 25, 2010 at 11:40:02 from 74.32.219.217

That's why you have the Garmin. It is the only way to be a real acurate pacer.

You are ready it should be fun on Saturday I wish I could come and I wish I could run fast enough to be in your group!

Good luck tomorrow. Do you have your bright yellow jacket ready?

From MarcE on Fri, Feb 26, 2010 at 18:43:40 from 206.225.68.76

Just got home from packet pickup.

This year they handed out lightweight bright orange safety vests for the pacers -- and I really wanted to wear my yellow stuff -- I'll wear both!

My cough is still lingering a little, which has me a little worried about lung capacity (oxygen flow to the muscles). All of my training runs for the past 2 weeks seemed fine -- so I'll at least give it a try. If worst comes to worst, I'll hand off the vest, apologize and walk back to the finish line. But, I really don't think it will be a problem.

Weather is looking nearly perfect. About 40F, low wind, and getting over 50F by finish time. Time to make my pre-race preparations and pasta.

I'll post a report sometime this weekend! Thanks for all the support, guys!

From MarcE on Sun, Feb 28, 2010 at 09:18:14 from 204.16.82.104

..the short version..

Weather was perect.

Was worried about the cough

Ran 3:40:33 (lost those 33 seconds in the last 2 miles..I ran out of gas)

All-in-all I give myself an A-

Had a group of about 6-10 for most of the race

My feet hurt (I really need to find some shoes that don't hurt my toes!!!!)

Thanks guys or the support!

GREAT job! You're an AWESOME pacer, A+++ in my book! Hope the cough's all gone and the sore toes are on the mend!
