Went to the track at lunch with Darin and Eric. We were planning to run 8 x 800m, but the HS football team came out and got on the track..and we only got in 4. Was trying to keep them under 3:15, but because we only did 4, I sped up on the last one. Had 400m recovery jog between.

2:57, 3:02, 3:05, 2:50

80F, 64% humidity, mostly cloudy (felt steamy)

First run wiht new Speedstars. They felt great right out of the box.

WOW, those are some speedy 800s. Too bad the football team got in your way of doing 8 sets. Check out that 2:50! WaHoo!

New Speedstars!!! So fun to have new shoes especially when they feel great right out of the box! HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND. Are you running one more long one? Can't remember, or are you tapering already?

Great job on those 800s. That is the same paces for my training program. Your looking strong bro.

Nice run Marc...What makes those football players think they can run on your track? Don't they understand you are training for a marathon?

Wicked fast!!! :)

Smooth - I'm going to do 15 on Saturday. I'll try to do 13 of them at MP (7:26). I better get to sleep!

I wish I had done more 800s -- I'm fairly certain that I could have done 10 under 3:15 (Yasso's)..but I guess I'll never know.

Kathie - as it was hot and I was at the track...I ran shirt-less. I'm pretty sure I heard a few of those players laughing at the jiggly old man...but I was thinking, "I'm fairly certain I could outrun most of them in an 800m race!" :) I was also thinking, "this is what you have to look forward to in 25 years, enjoy your youth!!"

I know you could have out raced all of the players. Laugh all they want, but the "Old" man could beat their booty!!. I couldn't run my 800's on a track I know I would slow down too much. You are so ready for SGM.

Marc ~ How did the planned 15 miler go today? Did you know that you can still do your 10 Yasso's? It is safe to say that 10 days out is the best time to do your last speedwork. Just get there before the football dudes. BTW, those kids shouldn't be on the track anyway. Their practice should be on the field. I have run the track many times with the team practicing in the middle and they couldn't believe I would run in circles around them 10X more than they would run across the field. You sure showed them!

Wow 7:26 is your marathon pace! That would be my puke pace for may be 200m. You are so stinkin' FAST! You are right on target for a sub 3:15 at SGM!!!
