Was planning to be a 6 miles at MP -- just to get a feel for 7:40ish pace. Started out with the wind at our backs...and went a little faster than expected. Felt very good..I wish my feet felt as good in the last 6 miles of a marathon, as they do on these short runs.

7:23, 7:16, 7:19, 7:21, 7:33, 7:50(slowed on last mile to wait for Darin)

SPEEEEDY!!! HR 140 is amazing! A GOOD sign that everything felt good! Means you are soooo ready! See you in couple days!

From Rhett on Thu, Apr 15, 2010 at 11:25:14 from 74.32.219.227

Those 7:40s are going to seem really slow for you. You're going to have to work hard not to go too fast. If the wind is at our backs as predicted you're going to be able to fly on this course. Maybe another PR.

From MarcE on Thu, Apr 15, 2010 at 13:11:30 from 136.182.2.26

Smooth - a few minor aches and pains, but nothing major. I'm not going to wear the HR monitor on Monday -- I'm just going to go by feel (I'm sure my HR will be a little high just from all of the adrenaline).

Rhett - yes, it will be a little tough to keep it reigned in -- especially if the wind is behind us. The current plan, has me at 1:38-1:40 at the half...from there, if I feel good, I'll go for a PR(3:19:47), otherwise, I'll try to hang on for a BQ (3:30:59). I'm concerned that I don't have enough miles in this year to give a PR this year a realistic chance -- but, we'll see on Monday!

all systems working great news. I hope that tailwind hangs on for you all.

From MarcE on Thu, Apr 15, 2010 at 17:15:28 from 129.188.33.25

If that tailwind stays, we might see a new course record. Go Meb and Ryan!!!!

Enjoy Boston.

From MarcE on Fri, Apr 16, 2010 at 10:53:47 from 136.182.2.25

RP - I'll do my best to enjoy Boston. This will be 3rd year in a row (which is pretty amazing seeing as I've only technically BQed 2 times out of 17 attempts :) Get yourself healed, and run it with us next year!

From Andy on Fri, Apr 16, 2010 at 12:37:48 from 159.212.71.200

Good luck Marc. Glad that you decided to run it. Sounds like things are clicking at just the right time.

From Rhett on Fri, Apr 16, 2010 at 13:21:48 from 74.32.222.202

Travel safely Marc. See you tomorrow.

From Smooth on Fri, Apr 16, 2010 at 13:29:44 from 174.23.237.236

Marc! Have a safe trip! See you tomorrow!

From MarcE on Fri, Apr 16, 2010 at 14:21:10 from 129.188.33.25

Andy - seems like things ARE clicking. I've got my usual doubts and worries..but if I take it as "just another long run", I might surprise myself.:)

Rhett/Smooth -- Safe journeys to you two, too. See you tomorrow sometime. Are you both staying at the same hotel?
