Visiting friends near Houston. Got out at about 8:00AM (and I thought it was hot and humid where I live...hah! Already a balmy 82F). Ran about 2.5 miles to a park. Lots of runners, walkers, bikers..I just love seeing other people exercising while I'm out running. My runs are usually so lonely. I didn't want to run too far..wanted to save some energy for site-seeing and playing with the kids, so only did 10. The last 2 miles were about 7:00-7:15. I'll try to get out a little earlier tomorrow morning, and maybe get in a few extra miles before spending the day at NASA then the beach at Galveston Island.

WOW you got in a 10miler while on vacation and in the hot humid Houston!!!! GOOD JOB!!! Did you run on the Greenbelt trail system? I loved the wooded trail although I don't care for some of the concrete portion.

Have fun at NASA and Galveston Island. Hope the hurricane last year didn't effect too much of Galveston. Are you stopping at Nema (sp?) it's close to NASA with a carnival feel and great seafood and shopping right off the seaport.

You are so diehard!

Hey Smooth, I didn't run on the Greenbelt system. We're actually saying with friends a little NW of Houston in Spring, TX. There's 5.8 mile trail system here, some of it is shaded, but all of it is paved asphalt (I ran along the side as much as possible..I followed a few unpaved trails along a creek for a little while -- I think I would really like running some of those trail races.

We were going to go to NASA today and Galveston tomorrow, but NASA is really on the way to Galveston (53 miles from where we're staying..so instead of driving 106 miles today and another 120 tomorrow..we're just going for a single day drip. NASA in the morning, and a few hours of the beach in the afternoon..and somewhere for seafood for dinner (I'll have to ask about Nema).

Teena...I feel like a bit of a slacker this week. 29 miles and 2 rest days! I should feel rested for a nice 50+ mile week next week!

Way to get in some quality miles.

A break from the "routine" is always a plus in my book. Way to be vigilant getting in that run on vacation, it's so easy to get lazy.

Nice vacation run Marc. Love the photos!
