| Thank you for your patience over the past 11 days as we have dealt with the
aftermath of the tragic events at the Boston Marathon.
As we begin to
move forward, one of our first steps is to congratulate official finishers on
their individual accomplishments in the 2013 Boston Marathon and to address the
issues relating to those who did not have the opportunity to cross the finish
line on Boylston Street on April 15.
Many of you know participants in the
race who were unable to cross the finish line, and we are working towards a
resolution for them. We do not have all of the answers at this time, but we are
particularly sensitive to the questions relating to these runners.
In
addition to your finish time, we have included your split times below from the
117th Boston Marathon.

or review the top finishers from this year's race at http://www.baa.org/races/boston-marathon/results-commentary/2013-top-finishers.aspx.
Also,
we know many of you have individual questions that you have been waiting to ask
the B.A.A., including perhaps information relating to the 2014 Boston Marathon.
We appreciate you holding these questions during this time. Please know that all
questions, answers, situations and issues are receiving careful attention by the
B.A.A. and we have been fully engaged in matters relating to participants and
also the general public.
The majority of finishers received their medals
on race day or in the days following the marathon. We are in the process of
reconciling our records to determine if there are official finishers who did not
receive a medal. If you did not receive a medal and you are an official
finisher, please send an email to registration@baa.org.
This
Summer you will receive a Racers' Record Book and an official Finisher's
Certificate in the mail. If you notice any inaccuracies with your time listed
above, please click here.
Discussions are underway and as we
decide on the answers we will communicate our decisions to you. At this time, we
must continue to ask for your patience.
We also thank you for your kind
messages of support and your demonstrations of resiliency. We look forward to
seeing you at a future B.A.A. race.
Sincerely, The Boston
Athletic Association
