From Smooth on Wed, Nov 04, 2009 at 19:25:22 from 174.23.240.142

Yikes! Sorry to hear you had the fever. The men in my house are sick too. Hope you're feeling better. Good therapy to drink plenty and get lotsa rest.

From Kelli on Wed, Nov 04, 2009 at 19:37:45 from 71.219.97.106

102??? That is sick. I am glad you are feeling better, but still take care of yourself so it does not come back!

From MarcE on Thu, Nov 05, 2009 at 01:25:51 from 206.225.68.25

I haven't had a fever in years..forgot what they felt like. I felt OK all day. Slight congestion..now a slight sore throat. I better get some sleep..I miss all my running buddies. I want to get back on the road and post some race reports. Thanks for checking in on me...

From Huans32 on Thu, Nov 05, 2009 at 09:14:23 from 138.64.2.76

Nice job getting in some miles. OUCH!! 102 sounds like the flu. Get that H1N1 test done man. Hope you start feeling better. And looking forward to our next race man. When and where??

From DonGardinero on Thu, Nov 05, 2009 at 13:38:59 from 75.162.162.183

Glad you are feeling better so quickly. I feel like I need to disinfect the entire house now that there is so much going around.

From Kathie on Thu, Nov 05, 2009 at 19:32:13 from 63.248.105.188

Hey Marc have you registered for Boston yet? I talked to Marci today and she said it is feeling up really fast...I don't want you to miss it!

From Smooth on Thu, Nov 05, 2009 at 23:41:20 from 174.23.240.142

Marc!!! How are you feeling today? Larry stayed home (worked from home) half day yesterday and today. He has a terrible cough, congestion and headache.

I hope you feel better and get over this illness REAL SOON!

Hey, I didn't see your name on the Boston entrant list. Better get on it right away. There are already over 20,700 registered. It's filling up fast. I suspect it will cap the day after CIM next month. Boston won't be the same w/o you.

From Rhett on Fri, Nov 06, 2009 at 12:12:14 from 74.42.168.210

Marc, sorry you're under the weather. The good news is you didn't mention anything about leg pain in your blog. Does you leg seem to be back to normal?

From MarcE on Fri, Nov 06, 2009 at 22:27:51 from 206.225.68.25

The puffiness on the shin is now 95% gone. I haven't run over 4 miles, so I don't know how the calf will do went it hits the magic 5 mile point (for some reason it was cramping at around 5 miles..upto and including SGM).

I had a conversation with Lloyd (Tom Slick) who was going to be my roommate at Boston--he's not going. He didn't BQ at SGM, and they wouldn't cut him any slack. So, he asked me if I still wanted to keep the room reservation...I really wasn't sure. It's so hard to think that far ahead when you're feeling injured, sick, and not even sure you will even be able to run another marathon (I don't want to force myself through another experience like SGM). I told him to give me a few days to think about it...

I would really love to see all my friends again and to be there when some of you first-timers run it. But, on the other hand, maybe I need some rest...I suppose I could go and run it nice and easy and actually experience all there is to offer and not worry so much about a time...it is 5 months away, I could be stronger by then..FASTER, ALL HEALED UP...

From Kathie on Fri, Nov 06, 2009 at 23:36:35 from 63.248.105.188

Go Mark Go...It wont be the same without you!

From Teena on Sat, Nov 07, 2009 at 21:02:07 from 67.177.20.13

I'm hoping that you won't cancel the room. But that's just me being selfish.

Positive thinking ... you WILL be better!!!

From Kelli on Sun, Nov 08, 2009 at 11:25:17 from 71.219.97.106

I agree with your last paragraph! Go run it nice and easy for the experience!!! Take it all in and enjoy it. AND it is 5 months away, you will feel much better by then I am sure.

From Smooth on Sun, Nov 08, 2009 at 23:40:08 from 174.23.240.142

Marc ~

How are you feeling? Just thinking about ya! Hope all is well!

From Huans32 on Mon, Nov 09, 2009 at 09:55:55 from 138.64.2.76

OH yeah. I just remembered I got your number. I will give you a hollar a bit later to see how your doing bro. Slick was saying he chatted with you. So got a bit of the scoop.

From Kathie on Mon, Nov 09, 2009 at 13:21:14 from 63.248.105.188

So how are you doing...No pressure but have you made a decision yet?

From Rhett on Mon, Nov 09, 2009 at 13:39:16 from 74.41.249.102

Marc, last year when I finally decided it wasn't going to be my day at the half way mark, I decided to just enjoy the second half and try and take in all the sights and sounds and have fun. I had so much fun doing that and am glad I had that opportunity. That being said, I hope to go all out this year and break that Boston 3 hour mark.

From MarcE on Mon, Nov 09, 2009 at 16:55:54 from 136.182.2.25

Y'all aren't making this easy on me. :-)

I told Slick to try to get his deposit back on the room, but that was Friday. As of today, he still has the room...

I ran 6 miles, pain-free at lunch today. The HR was VERY high -- probably because I'm still getting over the cold/flu/whatever I had last week. It felt good to finish 6 miles -- I used old shoes, and didn't feel any tightness in the calves. (I still haven't gotten new shoes, yet..been putting it off)

..I'll go ahead and commit the $$ to reserve a spot at Boston for me (but, I'll wait a little while before committing to air-fare, at least until I get some confidence back that I can run at least a half marathon without a cramp :)

From timp on Mon, Nov 09, 2009 at 16:57:56 from 129.188.33.27

:)

From Kathie on Mon, Nov 09, 2009 at 17:28:39 from 63.248.105.188

ditto timp!

From Rhett on Mon, Nov 09, 2009 at 18:07:48 from 74.42.168.210

Yea!!!! I've done the same. I signed up, but I'm waiting on the airfair. The room reservations can be cancelled I think up to 30 days prior, so no rush there. Right now my wife is planning on coming, but if she bails like last year, you can drop your room and stay with me.

From Smooth on Tue, Nov 10, 2009 at 19:49:18 from 174.23.240.142

Yay! So glad you registered! I'm sure you'll get healed up soon. NO WORRIES!

I'm watching for airfare too...hopefully it will drop after the holiday rush.

From Huans32 on Wed, Nov 11, 2009 at 09:06:42 from 138.64.2.76

Good to hear your still heading to Boston. I am sure you will be back to yourself soon. And can get in some good training before the BIG SHOW.
