Ran w/ Darin again today. Got a later start (12:30P). Today Darin wasn't feeling too hot (I think it's because I had him waiting on me..so he ate his lunch). We started slower then picked up the pace. Overall, we ran slower than yesterday, but felt so much better.

Hope to get in a 20 miler on Saturday.

20 on Saturday sounds great...for you anyway I think I will go for 14 in the smog and hope I don't get sick!

Sounds like a perfect recovery or preparatory run for the 20 miler!!! Have a WONDERFUL weekend!

Kathie -- I'm sorry about your smog out there. You've got that "inversion" thing going. The air in Texas is pretty clean in the winter. (at least there are no ozone alert days in the winter)

Smooth - thanks! You have a great weekend, too! (BTW - I still haven't received my BOM - you can bring it to Boston:)

Sounds like you and Darin have a good thing going. Is he a marathoner? What kind of times does he run?

Good luck on the 20 miler. You know your pretty much locked into it, once you call your shot on the blog?

Rhett - Darin's great guy to run with. He's a couple years older, but about 20 pounds lighter, which ends up putting us fairly well matched. Darin ran 4 marathons in a 6 month period back in 2007-2008 -- culminating in his first and only run at Boston in 2008. Since then he has had knee problems, took off some time, and is now back into running--and is going to run the half marathon at Cowtown at the end of Feb. I'd be hard-pressed to beat him right now...we're as evenly matched as anyone I know..even our strides, cadence, and heart rates are almost identical.

I ended up running 22 miles today-- I had to run to the "one-stop" (gast station, mini mart, restaurant -about 11 mile sway from the trailhead) I'll give details when I log the miles in my blog!
