Ran w/ Darin. Was a nice day (55, sunny, low wind). Because I ran kinda long yesterday, we decided to go shorter. Because we went shorter, we decided to go faster (sounds logical). We decided to run our old 3.85 mile route.

 6:34,6:44,6:46, 6:53/mi for the last .85...yep, I faded a bit.

This was the fastest I've run in a long, long time. I really need to race a 5K sometime.

I also set a PR (26:09) on our course by 3 seconds (I set the old PR on 12/12/06). Darin still has the course record (25:38 - 12/1/09)

SPEEDY!!! How in the world do you run that fast the day after a long run? My legs are always dead. You are in top shape! Definitely go win some 5Ks! See you in 26 days! Can't hardly wait!!!

Smooth -- look at your mileage compared to mine. You run 3 times what I do in a normal week. You'd be full of energy, too if you ran as little as me! :) (I only ran 10 miles yesterday...it was a mid-long run. :)

Are you really considering wearing the VFFs for a full marathon? I think it's crazy, but I've seen people do it and if you've built up to it properly, I guess it shouldn't be a problem.

Rhett -- at this point, I think my feet would fare better if I ran in the VFFs. My toes were in terrible shape after Cowtown (running in my Addidas). I needed to take a week off just for my toes to recover. At this point, the VFFs are very comfortable--the only issue is the tightness in the calves...but it doesn't seem to be getting any worse, and is progressively getting better (I think). I went to the running store today to look for some lightweight racing shoes..and they didn't have any in my size 13. So, I'm taking that as a sign from God that I'm going to be running in my VFFs at Boston..or I'll try a different store. :)

Nice fast miles! I hope the VFF work for you, I think it would be really cool to run in them.
