Ran 5 at lunch with Darin, Eric, and Sergio. (This is the largest lunchtime group I can remember running with). Weather was excellent! 60, sunny, 7 MPH wind.

We wanted to run about an 8:00/mi pace..after warming up with a 7:49, it got faster from there. The bad thing about taper time for me is, that I feel too good whenever I finally get out and run, it is hard to slow down! Long story short--finished strong with a 7:19/mi AP.

Splits: 7:49, 7:23, 7:29, 7:21, 6:33

HR: 129,144,145,153, 161

AP: 7:19

I still need to finish preparing my tax return!!! Tonight...for sure, I'll finish...it's not that hard, it's that I'm such a procrastinator..

Hey Speedy! Nice lunchtime run AGAIN!!!

Do you "owe" tax? I'd put it off too if I had to pay. LOL! I am glad you're feeling good in taper mode. See you in 4 days!!!!!

Great run! Less than a week to the BIG SHOW! you are so ready... Next year I hope to be there as well!

From DonGardinero on Tue, Apr 14, 2009 at 15:16:00 from 75.162.171.212

Marc, I'm a procrastinator, too. If I didn't work for the IRS I probably would have waited until now, too. I got mine done a couple of weeks ago. Every year, starting in January, they remind us on a weekly basis to get our taxes done and paid by the 15th of April. They ALWAYS stress that we could lose our jobs if we don't. Very stressful.

Have a great run Saturday. You all help inspire me to pick things back up after vacation.

I stand corrected, great run Monday.

From MarcE on Tue, Apr 14, 2009 at 20:29:58 from 206.225.68.108

Smooth - I think they owe me (or at least they will by the time I'm done :). I put it off every year..there always seems to be more urgent things to do, so I wait, and wait,..and before i know it, it's April 14th!!!

Kathie - I hope you're there next year, too. I need to requalify for next year, so I'll need to get another 3:20:59 or better sometime this year. I'm hoping for Monday!

Dale - you work for the IRS? Cool.

RP - Welcome back from DC. Great pictures on your blog. I probably won't run on Saturday (we're going to the Sox game). I know most races are on Saturdays, Boston is always on a Monday :) (Patriots' Day)

Yep, I work for the IRS. I finally let the cat out of the bag. LOL!!!

From DonGardinero on Tue, Apr 14, 2009 at 22:42:06 from 152.216.7.5

Let me state that at the Ogden IRS Center, we only handle business returns and I work in the pension plan department. So there, now nobody can have bad feeling about me because I work at the IRS....Unless, of course, you have problems with your pension plans....LOL

From Smooth on Tue, Apr 14, 2009 at 22:49:24 from 70.56.102.54

Oh Good, now I know who to bug if I ever have problems with my pension plans...is that Social Security or Insecurity?

From DonGardinero on Tue, Apr 14, 2009 at 23:05:02 from 152.216.7.5

Insecurity....

From MarcE on Tue, Apr 14, 2009 at 23:24:27 from 206.225.68.108

I FINISHED MY INCOME TAX RETURN!!!! WOOHOOO! (I can now afford one or two extra souvenirs from Boston)

From Teena on Wed, Apr 15, 2009 at 00:10:02 from 67.177.20.13

Smooth ...

I hate to break up the party but you need to go to bed and get some rest!! :)

From Teena on Wed, Apr 15, 2009 at 00:12:33 from 67.177.20.13

Oh yeah ... nice job getting your taxes done Marc!!

From Smooth on Wed, Apr 15, 2009 at 00:15:13 from 70.56.102.54

Oops! Busted!!

From Rhett on Wed, Apr 15, 2009 at 13:03:42 from 216.67.216.116

Marc, nice easy run at such a fast pace. For me, an easy run is about a minute slower than MP not a minute faster!!!! Quit running so fast. We only have 5 days till the big day and you need to be rested.

From MarcE on Wed, Apr 15, 2009 at 21:38:29 from 206.225.68.108

That's right, Smooth and Rhett, I promised to buy your dessert if you PR at Boston. I think I can cover that now. :)

Rhett, running strong is part of taper madness. As you skip a day or two, you start to wonder if you still know how to run...I'm slowing down. I'll probably only run 4 or 6 more miles on Thursday or Friday at about 8:00/mi. That's my taper! :)
