Happy Birthday to ME!!! I'm 44, and darn proud of it...just one more year and I'm in a new AG!!! Woohoo!

Did my 10-miler at lunch (it is now a yearly tradition...that I started last year). It was about 80 degrees out there and humid!!!! It wasn't easy, but I did it..I hope to keep it a yearly tradition for as long as I can. Briefly, I thought about doing 44 laps around the track..1 for each year on earth that I've been in existence...which would have been doable..but I'd hate to start that tradition, and someday not be able to "do my age". (though 10 miles is still far, as long as I keep running, I should be able to manage that..it just might take longer as I get older)

My darling wife is grilling some steaks, and a few friends are coming over. It should be a nice evening.

Can I come??? Wait, it is too hot there, never mind!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you, I hope it is the best evening ever.

NICE birthday present to yourself...great tradition. I think I'll put a decimal to the number...so for my 54th birthday next year, I will run 5.4 miles. How's that?

Your sweet wife sure knows a way to a man's heart...grill him some juicy steaks.

HAVE a GREAT BIRTHEVENING!!!! AWESOME 44!!!

Happy b-day. Same day as my beautiful and adorable wife!

From MarcE on Fri, May 01, 2009 at 13:46:56 from 129.188.33.26

Thanks, all! It was a good day.

Kelli - yep, it's too hot in Texas!

Smooth - good idea. Though 4.4 miles didn't seem like quite enough. 10.0 was a nice round, fairly challenging distance. I'll try to stick with it!

Andy - Thanks. I did. While me and the boys were camping last weekend, my darling wife took a bunch of my old race event shirts, and made a quilt! Very cool!

RP - Happy B-day to MrsRP!!

How did I miss this post again...You must post after my 8:30 bed time!

I hope you had a great day... thank you for running an even 10, you know the 4.4 would kill me!

Kathie - no problem, I've been a little more sporadic in my posting since Boston -- I'm not training as intensely, so it's a little tougher to get on her and blog. I did the 10 instead of 4.4 for you OCD types! :)

Teena - you're too kind! Remember, you've never seen me up close before--I'm sure I look all of 44, and then some! :-)

Timbo! - Thanks, bro!
