Alarm went off at 5:30...I woke and shut it off, and decided to snooze for a few minutes. Got out of bed at 6:45. Out the door by 7:00. It was 72F, 70% humidity. I decided to run on Hwy 199 (65 MPH, 2-lane highway). The shoulder is wide, and there's lots of long hills.

I originally had the idea of getting in 15-20 miles. But, after the first few sweaty miles, I was going to be happy to get in 10. The humidity was kickin' my butt...again.

Got in some good SGM training. This was the longest run I've had since El Scorcho 50K two weeks ago...I think it's wise to build back up to 20+ milers. I'll have to get in my next long run sometime during this week, as we'll be driving to Illinois over the weekend. I plan to run along the Chicago lakefront next week while visiting my family.

Decided to snooze for a few more minutes??? Hmmm ... 75 minutes is now a few!!!???

If I lived closer I would come drag you out of bed so you could beat some of that crazy heat you have going on!!! Come on now Marc ... but the alarm far enough away so that you actually have to get up and out of bed to turn it off!!! That's basic stuff!!! :)

Seriously though ... nice job on your run. Have no idea how you do it with that kind of heat and humidity! Are you staying hydrated???

I agree with Teena... that being said I slept in until 9:00 on Sunday thank heavens my church starts at 1:00 in the afternoon.

I do not know how you train in that kinda heat and humidity. I would melt. Have fun running in Chicago...along Lake Michigan, is it? Hopefully it's not as hot and humid as Springtown.

Enjoy Chicago and drive safely.
