20 minutes on the exercise bike (or whatever you call it)

Swelling lower right leg is almost completely gone..seems to stay down if I don't walk around much, and not wear socks.

I've been feeling a slight pain on the outside of my left ankle. I'm wondering if this is what started all of my problems. Now that all the other pains are almost gone, this is the remaining pain, and I can remember it from a few weeks ago. Starting to wonder if I modified my stride to compensate for it, and then ended up messing up my right leg. I'll see if it goes away.

When I do start running again, I'm going to get fitted for a new pair of shoes at the running store. I've been running in ASICS Speedstars for the past 1.5 years -- initially I would only run in them during races (as they are lighter than normal trainers), but they felt so good, I started running all my training runs in them. Maybe another possible clue to my issues. Maybe the new Nimbus will fit me this year.

Sounds like you have plenty of clues, I hope you find the answer.

A more cusioned shoe is a good idea. I need to start running with more cusion too, but like you, I love the feel of my SpeedStars.

So how are you doing today?

From MarcE on Fri, Oct 16, 2009 at 22:07:10 from 24.155.140.8

Kathy, I'm doing fine today. Still no running. I'm a little scared to step on a scale! Been enjoying some much-needed rest. Still some minor pain and slight swelling on the right leg -- on the front above the ankle. Nothing major. Just giving it some time to heal. Helped out a little at my sons' soccer practice last night. Felt it in the knees more than anything...I didn't run much..just kicked the soccer ball to the kids. Thanks for asking! :)

Don't worry about the scale! According to my ex-SIL all scales read 10 lbs heavier than reality. Some sort of conspiracy by the manufacturers! (Or so she says! :))

Hang in there!

I'm glad to hear you're feeling a bit better Mark.

Just checking in on you.

Hope you are healing by the second! :)
