Worked from home today, so I ran solo at lunch time. This is my hill workout. Ran 3 miles out, 3 miles back. 20 MPH wind, 71 F, 59% humidity.

My VFFs were starting to get a little...ripe. So I added some foot powder last night and let them dry out. After today's run, my feet feel a little beat up -- not quite blistered, but a little more wear than usual (might have been the 7:08 mile 3 downhill on the highway). All of my miles in the past 3 weeks have been in the VFFs..and I really do like them. Ordered some Asic Speedstar 4's from Holabird yesterday. I'll give them a try when they come in...if they feel great, I'll start using them a little, and will probably run Boston in them...otherwise, it will be the VFFs at Boston.

Nice job. Seems like it's been pretty windy there lately.

Is it just me or are you running faster in your VFFs?

From RivertonPaul on Wed, Mar 24, 2010 at 19:04:32 from 67.42.27.114

Windy.

do you wear socks with them, you know the ones with the toes.

From MarcE on Wed, Mar 24, 2010 at 20:31:10 from 206.225.68.119

DoG -seems like the Spring pattern around here. Wind is good training!

Rhett - I think I'm back to my usual "regular shoe" speed. If I can run a 20:00 5K in the VFFs, that would be way cool. (not sure when that will happen...

RP - Yup.

Kathie - No. I never bought the socks. I'm not sure there's room for socks. I gently wash them and hang them to dry after this weekend's long run. I'll look for some socks next time I'm at a running store or expo.

SWEET that you're running as fast in the VFF as in regular running shoes. Will be fun to see you run in them at Boston!

From Rhett on Thu, Mar 25, 2010 at 14:10:30 from 74.32.222.202

Marc, I always buy a few pair of injinji socks when I am in Boston every year. They are cheaper there.

From MarcE on Fri, Mar 26, 2010 at 00:43:35 from 206.225.68.126

Smooth - at a minimum, I'll run the 5K on Sunday in them. But, there's a good chance I'll wear them again on Monday...how cool would it be to BQ in VFFs??? (ok, not real cool, but I'm sure it's been done very few time in the history of running :)

Rhett -- Good idea. I'll have to look for a few pairs of black Injinji socks (to match the shoes). I hope there's enough extra room in my VFFs for socks--they are fairly snug already.
