(Still in Boston, will write complete trip report along with a link to hundreds of pictures when I get a chance)

I took it slow. I took my Canon T2i SLR Camera. I took lots of pictures.

I finished about 20 minutes before the explosions. I heard them, but was far enough beyond the finish not to see any of the tragedy.

I looked for Smooth's husband, but never saw him as I turned onto Boylston. I couldn't help but think of how much trama Smooth's son Eric was exposed to working at the Medic tent at the finish line.

It was a wonderful day...until the explosions. My feelings about the marathon, and the thousands of supports are truly of a city united. I truly soaked in the entire event this year - and took lots of pictures of the crowds lining the route.

I finished in 4:05, a PW - my second 4+ hour marathon out of 25. I was glad to finish - I will be even gladder when I get home and hug my wife and kids.

Way to go, Marc. I'm glad you enjoyed the course and took lots of pictures along the way. Can't wait to check 'em out. I hope you have a safe trip home.

I think you are Xempt and DQed from a PW by caring an SLR 4 26.2! You will have to try harder next time.

By the way, I ran my PW on Saturday, 5:32!! But I was shooting for sub 6 so the PW was not as satisfying as it might have been.

Relieved you stayed safe during the tragedy.

It was good to see you at Boston and be able to enjoy dinner with you and the other FRBer's. It looked like you was having a good time during the race. Heal up, get healthy and take care of yourself.

Glad to hear and see that you and yours are all safe and sound! Glad to hear that all our running blog mates are also safe and sound!

I remember running my PW at Boston just a couple years back, but I also remember that "it" was at Boston where I ran my PW race! If you have to run your worst, Boston's the best place to do it!!!! Congrats on another from Hopkinton to Boston! Well done Bro-Marc!!!!

My focus is to return to Boston in 2014!!!!!

I'm home. Just taking a little time off. Caught a cold this week. Getting some much needed work done around the house. Not much running to speak of. I will be back. I have a few races to prepare for this summer!

Marc, congratulations on finishing another Boston. I'm glad to hear you were safe. Doing Boston with a camera and no race goal is fun. Hopefully you will have some good memories even with the tragedy that took place.
