Rest day. My son, Christian's 5th birthday. For his special birthday breakfast he wanted chocolate donuts with sprinkles. Who was I to argue.

PC: Did 50 straight. 1 set. This is 20 more than my original max-out a few weeks ago. I might have been able to pump out a few more if I had to.

Bfast: 1 cinnamon roll, 1 cup coffee (I made it almost a whole week, but my in-laws are visiting and they made coffee and I figured, one cup wouldn't raise the BP much)

Lunch: Grilled chicken breast, grapes, some cheetohs. Ice water.

Dinner: Roast beef, mushroom gravy, 3 popovers, mashed cauliflower. 1 can ginger ale. 2 birthday cupcakes.

Wow..that's a lot of food for one day. I'll be a Clydesdale again in no time.

Sounds like you had a fun day, Marc. We celebrated my son's 8th birthday today (it was actually on the 19th) at ChuckECheese with a couple of his friends. We also had donuts for breakfast and my mother-in-law is visiting. What are the chances we'd have such a similar day?

Happy belated birthday to your boy!! Chocolate donuts and sprinkles ... sounds delicious!! Do you ever listen to old Bill Cosby stuff? One of my favorites is when his kids talk him into making chocolate cake for breakfast. He figures it's okay because it has flour, eggs, and milk ... all healthy stuff. The kids repeatingly sing, "Dad is great ... he makes us chocolate cake." Anyway ... your story reminded me of that!!

Cool Dad!

You are very brave to post what you eat. Maybe I should too...

Hey Dale, it's a small world. Happy b-day to your boy!

Teena, That's hilarious! I spent a few weeks in England a couple years ago, and they find it totally ridiculous that we would eat such a thing as a donut for breakfast -- "isn't that a desert?" It is sad in a way. But, I don't think the occasional splurge or treat is a really such a bad thing. Hopefully, I'm not ruining my kids' eating habits for the rest of their lives...then again, look at my habits! Uggg..

Hey Kathie..I'm really starting to realize how bad an eater I really am. I can justify it this week.."I'm carbo-loading". But, I need to be nice to this old body. I'm not getting any younger, and maybe my higher than average BP has something to do with what I put in my mouth..you think?! Anyways, it is what it is. I run so I can eat, I eat so I can run. :-)
