Ran alone at lunch. Another hot/sticky day. Was nice to have cloud cover on the way out, but then it was cloud-less on the way back.

Achilles is still about the same. Something I'm just going to live with -- unless I want to seriously give up running for 4-6 months?? Or surgery (no way).

Stink, sorry about the achilles...I hope that with just less miles it will start to feel better.

I was just reading an article from Running Times about achilles injuries. They didn't offer much more than that. I'm sure it is very frustrating.

Have you tried taping it? Take care! Miss you!

Fall is just around the corner. Hang on.

Thanks, all for the kind comments. I'm hanging in there..just running more than a few times a week, coaching soccer, and catching up on some much-needed work around the house. I ran a 3.8 mile mudrun today..and had a blast! (I'll post a race report sometime, but going to go watch football now with the boys) Thanks guys for checking in on my every now and then...I think about you all often, even if I don't blog anything.

Hope that achilles is feeling better. Stay away from those hills.

How's it going? It's been ten days since your last post. Hope everything is ok.

From MarcE on Fri, Sep 24, 2010 at 07:03:53 from 136.182.2.25

Hey Guys...Has it been that long? I haven't been running much, and have been kind of bummed about running in general. I have a new heel pain on the right side (which makes me totally forget about the achilles pain on the left side). Anyways, I ran a mudrun last Sunday and had a great time, but I paid the price of probably prolonging the healing of my heel. I'm going to quit running for a few weeks (really this time), and get fully healed, so that I can start my training, refreshed, pain-free, for Cowtown Marathon in Feb. I hope to be ready for a half-mary in December, but I'm not signing up, yet. It's tough to blog when you're not running much. But, I think of you all often.

Are you going to try and do some cross training while your recovering?? Hang in there bro. It is tough and I feel your pain.
