Ran 7 miles on the treadmill after work. The first 3 miles were rough, then as I loosened up it got easier.

Lifted a few weights, mostly inclined bench dumbells. Worked my way up from 20 - 50 pounds each, with reps of 5 each. I managed one rep of the 50s. (I hope to look back at this in a few months and see some massive improvement). Going to make weights a regular part of my workouts going forward (I hope).

Are you going for the Mr. America look now?

Hey Marc, that's what I'm doing too. So far so good.

Sometimes I hate how long it takes to get warmed up for the runs. The first mile always seems to take forever.

I'm going to follow in Rhett's footsteps and try running three quality runs per week and a full body workout on the off days.

Kathie - I'm just following in your footsteps. All that cross-training, and your ability to just keep getting faster has inspired me!

Dale - I'll stick to the every-other-day routine (if it works out that way). I enjoy the rest day in between. When I do run, I'll try to make them quality runs (either longer distance, or faster), to bring me back to top marathon form.

Marc....I'm following the same plan. It obviously didn't do me any good running five days per week without much weight training. I was always so worn out from so much running that I never had enough energy to do speed work. Monday's I'm going to do hill work, Wed's. will be tempo or speed intervals and Fridays will be my long run.

Remember....LIGHTER weight, HIGHER reps!!

Thanks, Kristi!

Good to be fit overall.

RP - I wouldn't know. The thought of lifting weights, just to lift weights is new to me. I usually get me cross training doing yard work.
