Ran 3 easy miles with Jo and Darin. Jo's knee was bothering her, so I volunteered to walk the last mile with her. (My achille's is still bothering me, but I think it always will). While we were running our AP was about 8:00. After walking the last mile, it dropped to 10:00.

What shoes were you wearing. Your not out there running in those racing flats are you!

Do you have orthotics in your shoes? I used to have a lot of pain in my achilles and then I got custom orthotics and never have pain anymore. It was so bad that I could barely walk in the morning after getting out of bed.

Hang in there, Marc!!!

Oh Marc! I am sure Jo appreciated your company! Please know that we think the world of you! Take care of that Achilles!

Ya, get better!

Marc, I used to have achilles issues a long time ago (12 years or so) and could not run more than a mile without being in pain for a few days. I was desperate and went to the health food store and asked for advice. They recommended MSM. I started taking 4000mg a day and within a few weeks I was running farther than I had in a few years without pain. I have never had troubles since. MSM is inexpensive, safe and I'd say worth trying out. The only negative is, it is a sulfur derivative so as your body is getting used to the stuff it can cause some nasty gas. :(

Hey Marc, thats some stinkie advice from Rhett.

Slick - on Friday I ran in my Addidas Supernovas. I'm starting to wonder if the ASIC Speedstars might be the cause of the Achilles issues

Dale - No orthotics for me. Orthotics might do wonders for me. I'd add them to my wish list. My achilles tendons have always been tight when I first get up in the morning. This weekend (no running), they seem to be OK. Will see what Monday's run has in store.

Teena and Smooth -- You are the sweetest SSFs!

Slick - you crack me up!

Rhett - I think I tried MSM a few years ago, but I probably didn't take it long enough to notice any real improvement. I think I'll give it another try.

Thanks all for all the advice -- you are the best!
