!!!Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

It was another hot day...I'm glad I didn't wait until after work to run. I ran my 9 miles at lunch time when it was only 80 degrees...it got to about 86 by dinner time. Low humidity thought and a 15MPH breeze, so it made it bearable.I made the mistake of wearing my Asic Nimbus 10's today. The toebox is too small, and I figured because they made my toenail already fall off, what more harm could they do??? Ouch! I hate to toss away expensive shoes...but I might be able to wear them when I'm not running.

Splits: 8:34, 8:22, 7:54, 8:10,8:05, 7:59, 7:56, 7:08, 6:58 (you can guess the wind was with me for the run back home)

AP: 7:54

HR: 142

I watched my Boston video from last year today for the first time this year. Trying to fired up for the blessed event! I sure hope we have nice weather this year.

THAT is downright HOT! I may complain about the cold, but just wait until you hear me complain about the heat. I hate heat! And noon heat is the worst. GOOD JOB YOU for being able to stand it! Awesome splits, BTW!

Can I just tell you that toe nail loss is my, I can not think of the right word here.....nemesis?? Something like that. No matter how many different shoes I buy and in different sizes, I lose my toenails. As soon as this one grows back, it falls right back off. I just think I should have it surgically removed FOREVER! I had such pretty feet before I became a runner....

Wow heat and wind. Looks like that wind at your back really picked up as the run went on. With a sub 7. Nice work bro.

From Smooth on Tue, Mar 17, 2009 at 23:28:12 from 71.36.65.79

Toe nail is over-rated. NICE run considering the HEAT! I melt in that kinda heat.

I should dig out my DVD and watch it for motivation too. I wonder where it is. I've only watched it once. I think I'll save it for when I'm tapering and going crazy. Yep, I'm hoping for good weather like last year's. Have you ordered any Adidas wardrobe yet? I need to order mine. I was hoping Lark would give a write up on the choices. ;-)

I know how it is not wanting to throw out shoes. I have a pair that gives me bruises under my ankles each time I wear them, but I found they work great on the elliptical so I save them for that.

Someday soon I hope to make a trip to Boston in April :)

Great run Marc. I love to break out the Boston DVDs every now and then, but my 4 year old son watches them on a regular basis. The other day I came home from work and he had been watching one of them and the first thing he said to me is "I'm going to run Boston fast when I'm bigger." What a proud daddy moment.

Kelli, bummer about the toenails. I had a complete set for a few months, before I got these shoes. My Asic Speedstars are awesome, but the Nimbus's... Personally, I think I'd rather run when it's hot (80's-90's) than below freezing..the heat slows me down a lot.

Huans, I'm trying to end my runs with 1 or 2 fastish miles. If I've got the energy to do a sub 7:00 at the end of a run, then I might have energy to run sub 8:00s at the end of a marathon.

Smooth - I've ordered the Addias Boston jacket (navy blue). That's all. I'll probably get a few more things once I get to the expo at Boston.

MissFIT - I don't know how old you are. But, worst-case (youngest case) you'll need a 3:40..and from the look of your workouts, you just need to get into SGM this year and do it (or any other marathon of your chosing). Perhaps, your BF might BQ, too..if he does, I might just have to go back again in 2010.

Rhett - Priceless!

So, if the heat slows you down, then why do you prefer to run it? I think heat and cold slow me down, I prefer 55-65 degrees!

From rhett on Thu, Mar 19, 2009 at 16:14:47 from 170.215.58.122

For training I like it between about 60 and 75, but for race day, I'll take between 45-55 any day.
