After 2 days of rest, it was nice to get out at lunchtime and run.

My right foot had been bothering a little on Sunday and Monday, so I decided not to chance it and gave it some rest. Wore a different pair of shoes today, and did about 7:00-7:20's for the whole thing. (The new Garmin hasn't arrived, yet..so I'm guessing)

75F, Cloudy, 80% humidity (today was the 5th straight day that we've had rain. We really needed it)

I was just taking a walk down memory lane by reading my race report from SGM 2007 (my 4th marathon..and my 1st BQ. I hope it's not my fastest SGM!)

Just for the fun of it, I took my pace for SGM 2007 and scaled it from 3:20:02 to 3:15:00, to see how it compared to Cougar's pace chart. Looks like miles 6 and 7 were a little too fast.. You can see the "fade" at the finish.Mark, Jeff, Mike -- I'd be willing to give Cougar's pace chart a shot, but you might lose me near the finish.. Perhaps, if I take miles 6,7,8, and 9 a little easier, I might have some gas in the tank!

NICE run. Hope the foot is okay. Glad you finally got some rain and the temp is a little more bearable. So fun to get new Garmin.

Such detailed analysis! You're gonna kick major trash! Here's 5 cheers to you, Mark, Jeff, Mike and Scott...3:15 here you boys come!!!!!

Very smart to let that foot recoup a bit! You really do have this pacing gig nailed, huh? No wonder you are a great pace leader!!!

Seriously, nice job today!!!

That is cool how you did it. Yeah I agree with you about the 6 and 7. Much to fast on that flat downhill. Right in there is where there is alot of people cheering and sun is coming up I think which got you going to fast. 8 is where Veyo starts and where we got to not go to fast and not to slow. So that is a good plan. As for your fade in the end. I think that is all of us. And where having hopefully all of us still together will help motivate each other to a strong finish.

It's always fun to read old race reports.

But I don't want to hear any talk of a fade to the finish. You guys are going to negative split this marathon and that is all there is to it!

From Kathie on Wed, Sep 16, 2009 at 12:56:06 from 63.248.105.188

You can do it Marc!!! No fading for you that is the plan!

From MarcE on Wed, Sep 16, 2009 at 13:47:27 from 24.155.140.8

"No fading for you!" - that'll be my mantra. :)

Thanks for the votes of confidence. 16 days and counting!!!!

Mark Nice workout. Hope the foot is feeling better. If I don't have my garmin I can never judge my pace. I ALWAYS think I am going faster than I really am.
