Ran with Eric and Darin at lunch....outside. 94 degrees. It was slow, but we survived. I need to start thinking of a plan for getting in the miles I need to go for 3:15 at SGM in October. Times flying by...but my mileage is lacking.

Time is flying, huh? 15 weeks to go!

I am sorry it is so hot there. I went running today around 10:30 and it was cool enough with a little wind that I was barely sweating. I wish the weather would stay like this. I need to find somewhere that it is like that year round so I could always sleep in!

Have a great week! Good luck finding the time for the miles, it is hard!

Marc - do you have a mapped out plan for your training? If so, just make sure you hit the key runs like mile repeats, tempos and lsd's, of course. I talked to a guy recently who has run a few sub 2:40's on about 40 miles a week.

You can do it!

You don't need to go for 3:15 you are already qualified for Boston right? Is that just what you want to do?

I am happy not to be running in the heat like you are, 94 wow that is hot!

Thanks, Kelli. I hope you have a great week, too! I wish I was migratory...I'd like to move with the 70 degree highs. :-)

Tim - You know me. No real plan. I know I need to ramp up to a couple 50+ mile weeks and have a two week taper. I can do it, but it will take some creativity, and sweaty, hot, humid, runs...with some pre-planted water bottles. Or I need to find a nice trail with drinking fountains. I'll be ready in 15 weeks..one way or another.

Kathie - Nope, I don't need to do 3:15, but I'd like to help pace MarkO, JeffC, and Kelli's Scott to their BQs. If I could do 3:20 two years ago, I should have a 3:15 in me, right? Glad I didn't wait until after work..it was 98. Welcome to Texas in the summer time (I'm sure Rhett has it worse in AZ..at least he has a pool and a huge lake to play in! :)

I agree with Tim. That is why that FIRST training program is so good and it is easily modified to fit your own personally running program.
