Recovering from Slip-N-Slide party at our house this weekend. All day Saturday getting everything ready for 70+ guests on Sunday. It was a blast! Still a little sore, but it was fun in the sun. I guess it is time to start building up the miles again...gotta get my Gojo back!

Go find your "Gojo" Marc!!!

So were there really 70 people slippin' and slidin'???

Have a great week!!! :)

From MrsFIT on Tue, Jun 30, 2009 at 08:24:44 from 24.2.68.35

I loved the "slippin' and slid" when I was a kid! The thing I didn't like about it was all the grass I found in my swimsuit. Is that too much information??

From MarcE on Tue, Jun 30, 2009 at 09:56:21 from 24.155.140.8

:-)

I'm guessing about half of the guests actually tried the slide...mostly the kids and some dads. No women were brave enough...I'm sure if any of my running friends were there, they would be brave enough! :)

From Kathie on Tue, Jun 30, 2009 at 10:48:01 from 207.155.176.10

Oh I would have tried for sure...and I would have made a contest out of it who could slide the longest or with the most STYLE. Sound like so much fun!!!!

From Teena on Tue, Jun 30, 2009 at 10:56:42 from 67.177.20.13

Kathie ... I think you are on to something!! Us runners should have a slip 'n style 'n slide party!!!

The stylin' points would be the funnest for sure!!! :)

From Huans32 on Tue, Jun 30, 2009 at 11:47:26 from 138.64.2.76

LOL sounds like a fun party. Why weren't we invited??:) I am always up for a slip and slide party. And throw in the competition and you will even maybe get the wife sliding.:)

From MarcE on Tue, Jun 30, 2009 at 13:55:26 from 24.155.140.8

Y'all were invited...it was fun, but probably not worth a 2000 mile roundtrip! :)

I'd suggest a slip-n-slide party following SGM, but I doubt any of us will feel much like slippin' n slidin' after a marathon! Maybe a nice relaxing pool party!

From Rhett on Tue, Jun 30, 2009 at 15:11:21 from 74.32.221.35

Nice recovery run. So what muscles needed recovery from the slip and slide party?

From Smooth on Thu, Jul 02, 2009 at 19:14:26 from 71.36.79.70

Marc!!! Are you all recovered from the Slip-n-Slide party? Have you found your GoJo or is it too sizzling HOT down in Springtown? :)

From MarcE on Thu, Jul 02, 2009 at 22:34:03 from 24.155.140.8

Rhett/Smooth- I managed to get whiplash or something. My neck has been sore all week. It's at its worst at 4AM! I haven't run since Monday, thinking that I probably need to take bit of a break. As much as I'm trying to fight the facts, I think age is catching up with me. I NEED to run soon, or at least go for a bike ride. More 4th of July parties this weekend. I hope to post a few miles sometime over the weekend. El Scorcho, might be El Noshow for me, if I don't get back out there.

Sure sign of age (not that you are old). Kids can do all of that crazy stuff and they are fine---very resilient little creatures! But us old people have to be careful with the slippin' and slidin' (and jumping, swinging, skiing, knee boarding, YOU NAME IT!)

From DonGardinero on Thu, Jul 02, 2009 at 23:06:46 from 152.216.7.5

Sorry to hear about the nexk pain, Marc. My kids have been slippin' and slidin' all week and it's so tempting to join them, but I don't dare. I know I'll hurt myself. lol

From Smooth on Fri, Jul 03, 2009 at 00:22:40 from 71.36.79.70

Try some of those Salonpatch freebies you got from the Boston Expo. Isn't Beth a massage therapist? A good massage and heat treatment might help. Stiff neck is no fun. Get rid of that neck pain quick! :-) El Scorcho is still 17 days away. You'll be good to go by then! And YOU ARE NOT OLD!!! Kelli, you're a baby compare to me! :D

From Teena on Fri, Jul 03, 2009 at 12:53:56 from 67.177.20.13

Hope your neck is feeling okay.

I love the ThermaCare patches when it comes to stuff like that.

(You are so NOT old!!!)

From Rhett on Fri, Jul 03, 2009 at 13:03:56 from 74.32.221.35

Ouch, sounds like you will be banned from the slip and slide for the remainder of your years. I hope that gets feeling better soon. Those patches work great when my foot is really hurting.
